But no one told us that park is going to close at 6 pm and when we told that lady their voice message says they close at 7 pm, she said she may have forgot to change the voice message.
I would like to share my experience at Timbavati Wild Life Park. Me and my wife visited Timbavati on 09/24/2017 around 4.00 pm. At the entrance we took tickets. We finished around 6:20 pm and head to the exit gate. We found that exit doors are locked. Then we went to ticket counter but that was also closed for the day. Somehow we got their contact number. We called that number but no one was there to answer and voice message was Timbavati Wild LIfe Park closes at 7 pm.
Our first impression of the wildlife park/zoo, was that it was a rundown, empty, disinteresting place. There didn't appear to be many exhibits or animals and many of the buildings seemed shutdown. What we gathered after our visit, is that the park is a work in process - growing/filling-out a little bit each year. Our admission tickets were free with our hotel stay, but we decided to purchase train rides and food to feed the animals. The train ride was good (a little sparsely populated for animals), but stopping and feeding giraffes and camels was wonderful. The wildlife presentation was short, but memorable. When we finally started to peek around, there was more to do than what we expected. The hands-on experience of touching and feeding the animals was rewarding. It probably won't be a place we go every year, but it will be fun to see how much it has grown five years from now.
There was no closing announcement in the park for the visitors
We expect much better customer service from such famous parks. Its a heads up for all the visitors that they should check the timings else you would end up staying in the park as no Timbavati Staff cares about their visitors.
Lots of fun. Well worth it. Got to pet a bunch of animals. Took a picture holding a baby kangaroo. Go in the morning and there's hardly anyone there. They take good care of the animals there.
My kid loved it one customer side she wanted to unlock all the doors and let them go I said they wouldn't live long at least in hear they get food and appreciation and we as humans get to learn about them .. The train conducted needs a raise he was awesome the animals were were super cool. The camel ride was super cool. The birds were cool to feed and we will be back to visit.
I LOVED this place! I've heard mixed reviews but we got tickets free with our stay at American Resort and so we have it a chance. My favorite animal is a giraffe and getting to feed and pet one in real life was the best experience I have ever had. That's something you just can't do at any old zoo. It is DEFINITELY worth the entry price and I would pay that the next time I go! It's great for all ages!
We were just 2 people in whole park and my wife was scared. We walked for around 15-20 minutes to find someone who can help us to get out of park. After a while we saw one lady heading towards exit. We rush to her for help at around 6:45 pm. She was a staff of Timbavati and about to leave.
Instead of apologizing she scared us saying we may end up spending up night with lions and tigers which are hungry. She was very rude. They should respect their visitors and polite to them.
When we told her that we are looking for a way to go out she said park is closed at 6 pm.
