Beautiful view, great location. Owner was very nice. Not 100% clean but not bad. Vending machine wouldn't let go of the cookies I paid for...classic hotel moment.
The pool was said to be under maintenance when we were there, but there wasn't anything indicating that it had been functional in the past 6 months.
Reasonably priced is the best thing to say about Cliffside. Most everything else feels rundown or that it hasn't been used in over a year.
That being said, the representative at the front desk was immensely friendly and helpful. With the pool being unusable, we were comped some tickets for a local place (2/5 for that place) which was a nice enough value for not being able to take a swim.
We had a Jacuzzi suite which was decent enough. The tub was large and got quite hot. The jets had a lot to improve on. Nothing felt positioned quite right and the amount of air/water they pumped out was meagre at best.
Overall, we'd think about going back but we'd explore other options before we make that decision.
The owners are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms I had were very clean. The beds were very comfortable and gave a good night's rest and the view I had from my deck was excellent ! Left my window opened all night to hear the birds, the wind, and the water.
My boyfriend and I chose Cliffside for our anniversary trip this past summer. We both can't wait to go back! It was so affordable to get a lake view with jacuzzi that we couldn't pass it up. The view was amazing. Lake view is the only way to go. I love hammocking and they had hammocks on their beach. Bring binoculars for the Tommy Bartlet show. We got free tickets to Noah's ark for each day and that was really fun too. They give you a coupon book for local attractions and restaurants. It's such a beautiful place. The only part that sucked was the smokers on the deck next to the outdoor pool :(
Quaint on the outside, and a bit dated in terms of interior design. But, very sizeable rooms and responsive service. WiFi was reliable, and HBO available. Also - our room had a hot tub and balcony
