Our cabins were directly in back of the main office and entrance. So you have the back of a building of a view. Not impressive. Cabins were clean and mattresses on the beds had a nice blue protective covering. But on the other hand the bunks in an extremely large room we're very small in width, wide enough for a child but very long. There's a sign with in the cabinet said food preparation is not allowed within the cabin. So you're going in and out to prepare food but no screen door to keep the bugs out. And also the drain holes in the ground are near the fire pits and one of the kids got their foot stuck in the hole because there's not much room between the fire pit and the drain holes on the edge of the cabin property. For future stays in the Dells and surrounding areas this would not be my first choice.
What a nice campground. Other reviewers are right about the proximity to railroad tracks but it wasn't so bad. The pull through sites are narrow, so you may easily get to know your neighbors. The staff was friendly and helpful. We'd easily come back.
Overall, a good place to stay if you’re aware of the pros and cons.
Stayed here for 4 days during August. The first room was clean, bed was decent, but window aircondioner was noisy, the view was of a rear park area. We wanted to stay a couple extra days so we ad to change rooms. This room was in a different (recently renovated old home) , view was a beautiful of the river, the room had central air (but we opened the crank out windows for the wonderful breeze from river). The Dells is touristy but there's a lot to do in the area. We walked everywhere, as parking is difficult.
Great campground. The staff is friendly, and the site we stayed at was a great value. Cabin with a bathroom (no kitchen) was exactly what we were looking for. The fire pits are better than any campground I've been to being on cement with rocking chairs. We had a great weekend.
Close to the ‘strip’ in town, but I wouldn’t walk it because it’s a back road without sidewalks and along an industrial area.
Great staff, clean campground, but bring your earplugs. Train right outside the campground doesn’t blow its horn, but it runs all hours of the day and night, shaking the camper and rumbling noisily enough to wake you up.
